 Our Playdays experiences are focused on children, but are enriched by parents and grandparents playing alongside their children, making them true family adventures. The day begins at 10am with cocoa served with delicious, local biscuits, to allow you to meet your fellow „expotitioners“ and relax into the fabulous experience you are about to enjoy. Children love the idea of setting off from ‘base camp’ and from the moment they first hear the crunch of a twig underfoot, we create the magic that makes woodlands come alive. We stimulate imagination, bonds between participants, the thrill of taking responsible risks to achieve tasks and challenges and the desire to work with the rest of the family to reach the set goal. We move sensitively through our woodland setting, enabling children to experience the joy of hands on discovery and understand the need to treasure nature. The whole family is treated to the taste of fresh, Cumbrian produce and learn how to quickly bake bread over a real fire. Everybody loves eating al fresco in our atmospheric woodland glade. Lighting fire without matches and creating a secret hide or den are huge fun, but creating objects out of wood is no less satisfying, particularly when items can be taken home as mementos of very special days spent in the woods. That isn’t all you will take away. A sense of achievement, a day spent playing as a family and memories you will treasure make what we offer truly irresistible. Add to that the chance to use our ideas and replicate activities at home and Playdays in the Woods is an enriching family experience that is already acquiring an army of fans. This day invites everyone to join and enjoy the woods with us, whether experienced in the outdoors or not. We will make sure that the group allows all sorts of paces and abilities to take part and contribute to the Playday.
